Anidotum Workshop (Wytwórnia Antidotum) was established in 2006 as a manifestation of a sort of artistic rebellion against the aesthetic mediocrity of the surrounding us reality, as an attempt to create an antidote for boredom and the cliché of everyday (and not-everyday) use objects.
That is when the first courses in design and production of artistic jewellery from silver and jewellery stone started - first in Warszawa (possibly first in the country) courses of this type organized by a private institution. The founders and creators of the school: Alina Tyro-Niezgoda - architect engineer and a designer; Roman Kowalkowski - graphic artist, goldsmith with many years of experience and Robert Szklarski as the first ones noticed that the wide selection of classes and courses regarding fine arts offered, there were none on the subject of goldsmith craft, which meant that the possibility of creating a young generation of Polish jewellers and goldsmiths and of utilizing the creativity of those who wished to try their skills in this creative area was very limited.
The founders of Antidotum Workshop have made it their goal to develop the valuable (and through the years of plain aesthetic of the past years - somewhat neglected) elements of shaping the tastes of the contemporary generation of Poles: the aesthetic sensibility, a feeling for form, proportion and beauty, as well as bringing out the signs of creativity in a freeform, creative atmosphere. All of this - and at the same time the development of solid technical skills and a gradual freeing from limitations relating to the lack of proper experience with "goldsmith technology".
These two directions of development are brought to life through:
- many hours of practice, under the supervision of experts;
- many lectures, which goal is mainly to awaken in a student the sensitivity to the art of shaping an object;
- participation in events related to the goldsmith craft - fairs, exhibitions, art opening, during which students have a chance to become familiar with the newest trends and achievements of well-known jewellery makers.
- a little dose of competition, in the contests in which students participate, which creates favourable conditions for the development of their creativity.
Antidotum Workshop offers three types (varying in their programme, intensity and cost) of courses for the design and hand production of jewellery from silver and jewellery stone:
- a two year professional course, with the widest programme of teaching, the end of which guarantees that you receive a certificate approved by MEN. This course is meant most of all for those who wish to enter the goldsmith trade professionally or those, who wish to improve the skills they already have;
- semester courses, which allow a flexible shaping of the educational process, finishing of studies at a chosen level, or continuing it at a later time. Finishing the course allows the student to acquire general knowledge of designing and creation of silver jewellery (1 st and 2 nd semesters - a "lighter" equivalent of the professional course), extended by skills of working with modern techniques and materials (plexi, acrylic etc.) and by knowledge on the subject of preparation of serial production (3 rd and 4 th semesters), refined stone settings (5 th semester) and the construction of complicated, requiring particular precision, elements, for example fastenings (6 th semester);
- a three-month Art Clay course, familiarizing the student with basic techniques of material treatment and providing hobbyist workshops, which give a basic knowledge about creating jewellery from ready-made elements available on the market. These courses are designed for those who wish to create jewellery as a hobby;
and also:
- individual classes and additional courses, among others, a repoussé course, basics of perspective drawing course, amber course etc.
Offer is directed to all persons of any age (above 15 years of age).
